How To Choose The Best Swimwear Color For Your Skin Tone

As summer is in full swing, Qlocherie has put together a guide to maximizing your impact at the beach with our color guide for different skin tones. Check to see if your swimwear collection matches our color guide.

Very Light Skin

Behold anything from the family blue. Qlocherie believes that blue should be your favorite swimwear color. Particularly a navy or deep blue color will really contrast your skin tone and create a look that you can really enjoy and feel comfortable with. Jewel tones can create a great look for you too. You’re basically looking for something that is darker or brighter than your complexion.

Having said that, beware of orange as you may not feel quite so comfortable with it. White, as it may clash a little too much with your skin tone, should be looked at with a deal of caution.

Medium to Light Skin

A medium to light complexion would really work a deep red color swimwear outfit. It would really contrast your skin tone and help to maximize your style. Other options for you to seriously consider are the more earthy tones. It will be a little more subtle but still have a desirable effect. Pink too is an option should you want something a little bit brighter to take a leisurely stroll along the beach.

Qlocherie suggests that you may like to resist the temptation of going for a grey or dark grey option. Keep sliding through the images too if you see orange as it may not be your best friend either.

Olive Toned Skin

Those ladies that are blessed with an olive skin or light brown tone have the benefit of being able to confidently choose black swimwear and pull it off amazingly. Black swimwear suits many but it will suit you the most. It can be stylish and striking and give you an amazing feeling of confidence as you strut your stuff in front of the other beach goers.

Military green is another color that you’re able to pull off along with a lovely pale blue. Additionally, a beige brown color may also be worth considering if you’re looking for something different from the main colors.

Try not to get your beige brown confused and go too far though as Qlocherie recommends that a solid pure brown may not be to your liking. Also a complete grey may have the same effect.

Mustard color swimwear, I’m afraid, just won’t cut the you know what. So if you see your olive toned bestie looking at mustard, be a good friend and raise a doubt.

Medium to Dark Skin

The richness of your skin tone needs to be complimented to show it off at its absolute best. You’re quite lucky when it comes to choosing swimwear colors as you have a wide selection that will potentially suit your tone.

Bright colors are ideal if you have medium to dark skin tones. They complement without overpowering your natural complexion. So try out a bright pink providing it suits your personality and you’re comfortable. You’ll look great. Bright purple and yellow are other potential options and would help you achieve a fashionable and captivating look.

Jewel tone colors are also great options. A jewel tone color is anything that resembles that of a gemstone. An example of a jewel tone color would be a lovely emerald green.

As you can see, you have a wide selection to pick from. There are however a few to possibly put to one side and leave for someone else. Qlocherie suggests that if you see any olive or beige color swimwear, you leave it where it is and let someone else take it, even if it does happen to be at a very special price.

Dark Skin

There’s a whole range of swimwear colors to choose from if you have a dark complexion. A pastel blue or baby blue color is an ideal choice due to the lovely contrast to the skin color. Pastels are a rather soothing range of colors and won’t clash with your complexion. Qlocherie suggests a pastel green that’s almost mint like in appearance, a subtle pink or even a mellow yellow would be great choices for you.

As with any skin tone, there are colors that don’t quite match so well. For a dark skin complexion those colors to steer clear of are usually brown, orange and white. If a friend encourages you to choose these colors then they probably want a chance to step out of your shadow for a change.

Remember, summer is a great time to go out and enjoy yourself. No matter what color you choose, if you’re happy with it that’s all that matters. Besides, who hasn’t made the odd fashion faux pas before?

Qlocherie would love to know if you agree or disagree with our opinions. Or even if we have missed a color that really suits a certain skin type, we’d love to know that too.

Remember, summer means swimwear!
